On September 21, 2018, WISH for OUR HEROES (W4OH) will host our fifth-annual Whiskey & Wishes Heroes Gala, in conjunction with George Hill, Matt Bonner, and other local San Antonio celebrities. In its fifth year, the Gala has become one of the most popular and exclusive events in Central Texas, raising more than $950,000 during its first four years, 100% of which assisted local military families struggling with hardship situations (food, shelter, transportation, child needs, uncovered medical expenses, etc). This year, we are excited to announce that the gala will be held at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch for the second consecutive year. Last year, we hosted a record crowd of more than 1,300, and this year we're expecting an even larger crowd of supporters and military families! We're very thankful to the Pedrotti family for allowing us to once again utilize their incredible facility. Out of respect for the Popovich family, given the extremely difficult circumstances they have endured this year, we wanted to give Coach Pop a year off from hosting this event. Rest assured he will be back next year, and thankfully, one of Coach Pop's favorite all-time players, George Hill, legendary host of many of our largest events, has agreed to step in and take this event to a whole new level! If you've ever been to one of George's events, you know that you're in for one heck of a treat! During our first four galas, we granted 49 wishes to surprise local military families struggling with various basic needs. This year, we’re going to continue the tradition by surprising a whole new group of local military families, as we pay tribute to ALL of our American heroes while we eat, drink, and celebrate together.
An incredible BBQ dinner will be included for all guests, and back by popular demand this year, all guests will receive complimentary alcoholic beverages. Last year, we provided complimentary beverages for VIP's, but this year, we want ALL guests to partake in the fun!
Those wishing to attend this year’s gala, have the following ticket options:
Active Duty Military – $25/individual or $40/couple - It has always been our policy to allow free admission for all active-duty military members, but last year, we had more than 100 military members sign up but not show for the event. This caused a very difficult situation, as we turned away paying customer to allow our heroes to attend. After discussing this with many of our regular military attendees, they agreed that charging a small fee for military families to attend would maintain the spirit of the event, but also ensure that some of our costs would be covered if a military member did not attend. We hope that our heroes understand. We do this for you, but most importantly, we do this to assist your brothers and sisters who are struggling with basic needs, so we need to ensure that we raise as much money as possible to assist them.
Military Wish Society Members - Free. Military Wish Society members are invited to attend all W4OH events as our guests. Please submit your information through the link at www.whiskeyandwishes.org to reserve your complimentary tickets.
Individual Ticket - $150. Includes admission to the event, a spectacular BBQ dinner, and complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (if guest is over the age of 21)
Couple (2 Tickets) - $250. Includes admission for two to the event, two spectacular BBQ dinners, and complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (if guests are over the age of 21)
